Mary Ryan became a resident of Upper Makefield Township in 1991. She has been very involved in township government as the Chair of the Upper Makefield Township Planning Commission since 2008, and a member since 2004.  She joined the Streetscape Committee in 2001, and she has been a member of the Township’s Capital Improvement Oversight Committee (Streetscape) since 2006. In 2010 Ryan received the Township’s Volunteer of the Year award. She has been a volunteer at Washington Crossing Historic Park since 1994, and also is on the Board of Plant a Seed Foundation, which helps deprived children fulfill their dreams.

A former Vice President of Merchandising and Design for London Fog, Inc.,  Ryan has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Textile Design from Philadelphia University (formerly Philadelphia College of Textiles). She has been married to her husband, John Paul, for 24 years and is the proud mother of two sons: John, 18 and Sam, 16.
