FEMA Flood Insurance Map Revision - July 2012

In December 2010, the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) issued preliminary copies of the Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) and Flood Insurance Study (FIS) report for Upper Makefield Township to review and comment.  In response to community comments, the floodplains of Jericho Creek and Tributary 2 to Jericho Creek have been extended and are labeled as Zone X on the revised map.  This revised map shows potential flood risks while not imposing flood insurance purchase requirements. 

Any comments you may have on the revised preliminary FIRM panel are an important part of the review process and will be considered carefully before the final FIRM and FIS reports are published.  Please forward any comments to dkuhns@uppermakefield.org no later than August 24, 2012.
