September is National Preparedness Month. Being prepared in advance for emergency situations will help you and your family handle it calmly.
Make a plan and be informed! Put together an emergency kit with items such as flash lights, battery powered radios, blankets and non-perishable foods. Make a plan by establishing a person who lives outside of the area with a meeting place for your family if you cannot return to your residence.
If you have not already done so, sign up for ReadyNotifyPa.org for direct messaging from your local township Emergency Management Coordinator.
For assistance, Emergency Management Coordinator Robert Kay can be reached via email at EMA272@verizon.
